On June 12, 2010, lawyers and other professionals came dressed to impress in their company team shirts while showing off their bowling skills to raise funds to help prevent and treat child abuse and neglect. The tournament raised more than $30,000 for FRC, and was well attended with more than 250 participants.
On June 8, 2009, Family Resource Center awarded the Children’s Hero Award to Judge Jeri B. Cohen for her pioneering work in the Dependency Drug Court in Miami. The award recognizes individuals in South Florida who are leading the way in child advocacy and especially those that positively impact the lives of the community’s most vulnerable children – those that face poverty, neglect, abuse, hunger, and poor educational opportunities.

Family Resource Center hosted its Fourth Annual Foster Parent Appreciation Family Picnic at Tropical Park in Miami. More than 100 foster parents and kids noshed on barbecued chicken, hamburgers and hot dogs while playing games, doing arts and crafts. Every child received an age appropriate backpack with school supplies to kick off the upcoming school year.
